Welcome to Midwest Rock 'N Routes at Devil's Lake 2026!

(This is part one of the two part registration process. After completing this registration, you will receive an email with instructions to register for your climbing clinic.)

Midwest Rock 'N Routes at Devil's Lake is an intersectional climbing event the weekend of September 25-27, 2026 at Devil’s Lake State Park and is designed to empower climbers through skill development and community building. With workshops on climbing skills, safety, and technique we’re creating a welcoming space for marginalized people of all abilities from the Midwest. We aim to introduce newer climbers to outdoor climbing, highlight the many benefits of spending time in nature, and empower you with the skills needed to grow as a climber.

Registration covers camping in the Devil's Lake State Park group campground on Friday and Saturday nights as well as your choice of climbing clinic on Saturday, September 26. Every clinic includes any gear you might need to participate, although you are also welcome and encouraged to bring your own gear. Dinner on Saturday night is also included in registration.

We are also excited to announce that the BOAT Bus will be on site to loan out tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, water bottles, headlamps, ponchos, and toiletries that you can borrow free of charge for the weekend. They will also be providing a cooking area where you can whip up whatever groceries you bring with you.

While transportation is not provided, we are happy to help you coordinate with affinity groups in your area for carpooling. Stay tuned to our website and watch your email for other logistics and information.

Please remember that this event is specifically for people from the Midwest who identify as part of a historically marginalized group - including climbers who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, adaptive climbers, women/woman-identifying, and with larger body types. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and affirming space for those who have been underrepresented in climbing.

If you do not identify with one of these communities, we kindly ask that you seek other opportunities. Please contact mwrockandroutes@gmail.com with any questions.

Please consider making a donation on our donation page to help cover the cost for climbers facing financial barriers.

We are also looking for a few dedicated volunteers to help provide a great event for climbers with disabilities and/or accessibility needs. Please see the Volunteer page for more details.
